How Cambodian postal codes work
Cambodian postal codes have six digits, set by Prakas No. 77. The pattern is PP DD CC: the first two digits are the province, the next two the district, and the last two the sangkat or commune.
The pattern
For example, the code 120207 breaks down as 12 for Phnom Penh, 02 for Khan Doun Penh, and 07 for Sangkat Chakto Mukh. Every code in one district shares the same first four digits.

The eight-digit variant
Some systems use an eight-digit form that appends two zeros to the six-digit code, so 120207 becomes 12020700. Both point to the same place.
