About the Philippine ZIP code data

Sources

ZIP codes and administrative areas come from the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) ZIP code directory. Hospital data comes from OpenStreetMap and HOTOSM, filtered to hospitals with a street-level address. Every page shows its verification date.

Current coverage

1,478 hospitals are mapped to their city or municipality, each with a street-level address. Bed counts and licence levels are not included in this source.

How we compile the data

Raw data is normalised into a single layered area structure (region to province to city or municipality), then each ZIP code is linked to its city. Before use, the data passes automated checks, among them: ZIP codes must be four digits, every area must have a valid parent, names must not be empty or broken, and the verification date must not be in the future. Pages that do not yet meet the quality bar are not indexed by search engines to avoid confusion.

Updates

The data is a dated snapshot, not real time. When a source publishes a new version, all data is normalised again and boundary changes are recorded as history on the relevant pages.

Limits

If a value cannot be traced to a source, it is left blank, not guessed. PO box and institutional ZIP codes are excluded because they are not geographic areas. The hospital list is drawn from OpenStreetMap, so small or new hospitals may be missing and some entries may be outdated. For high-stakes use, verify with the hospital directly. If you find incorrect data, please report it.
