About the Qatar zone data

Sources

Municipalities, zones, and areas come from the open Qatar Administrative Divisions dataset, published under the CC-BY-4.0 licence. Every page shows its verification date. Names are stored in English with the Arabic shown alongside.

Qatar has no postal code

Qatar does not use a postal or ZIP code system. Addresses use a zone number, a street number, and a building number, the official Anwani (QNAS) system, so the dataset has no code field. When an online form insists on a postal code, you can leave it blank or enter the widely used placeholder 00000, which is a convention, not an official code.

Each zone page shows the municipality it sits in, the areas it covers, a ready-to-paste address format, and nearby zones in the same municipality.

How we compile the data

Areas are grouped under their zone, and each zone under one of Qatar's eight municipalities as published in the source. Area names were cleaned so that a zone-number suffix is removed and duplicate names are told apart by municipality. Before use, the data passes automated checks: every zone must belong to a valid municipality, slugs must be unique, names must not be empty, and the snapshot date must not be in the future.

Updates

Administrative divisions change slowly, but for anything important, reconfirm your zone, street, and building numbers with the blue address plate on the building or with qnas.qa.

Limits

No postal code is invented; where Qatar has none, the page says so. If a value cannot be traced to the source, it is left blank, not guessed. If you find incorrect data, please report it.
