About the Taiwan postal code data

Sources

Cities, districts, roads, and 3+3 postal codes come from the Chunghwa Post postal code dataset, published on the Taiwan open data platform (data.gov.tw). Every page shows its verification date. Names are stored in English with the Chinese shown alongside; URLs use the English romanization.

The 3+3 postal code

Taiwan uses a 3+3 postal code: a 3-digit district code plus a 3-digit road or block segment. The district page carries the 3-digit code, and each road on it carries its own 6-digit code. Three digits are enough for most mail; the full six speed up sorting.

Current coverage

Each district page shows its 3-digit code, a ready-to-paste address format, and every road with its 6-digit code.

How we compile the data

Roads are grouped under their district, and each district under its city. Before use, the data passes automated checks, among them: 3-digit codes must be three digits, every district must belong to a valid city, names must not be empty or broken, and the snapshot date must not be in the future.

Updates

The data is a dated snapshot, not real time. Taiwan 3-digit codes are stable, but new roads and 6-digit segments may be missing; for anything important, reconfirm with Chunghwa Post.

Limits

If a value cannot be traced to the source, it is left blank, not guessed. If you find incorrect data, please report it.
